Hey y'all! It's only been like 4 days since I last wrote which is crazy, but I feel like so much has happened. All of the exciting stuff from these last couple of days would be really boring for all of you.... But since this goes on my blog and I want to remember it one day, I'm going to write about it and try to make it as interesting as possible. So.... Wednesday we went shopping with Sister Mickelsen and Sister Francom and that was a ton of fun! We walked through this super fun antique store and I dressed up in some really lovely vintage clothes. I don't think anyone took a picture, sorry about that. We also went to this really cute store and they had some lipstick that's supposed to stay on for a long time. They had samples so Sister P and I naturally had to try it on. I start putting it on and it burned so bad. I didn't want to say anything though because it would be so awkward if i was allergic to this lipstick so I kept putting more on. It is this really complicated process to out this lipstick on. You put on one layer and let it dry, then you put on another layer and let it dry, and then you put on a third layer and let it dry. After that it's supposed to stay on until you scrub it off with a make up remover wipe. Well either I have weird lips or this lipstick doesn't work because the last step is this gloss that is supposed to help keep it on and as soon as I put that on, all of the lipstick started to flake off and it looked like my lips were peeling and bleeding. Nasty. So I did my best to scrub it off and cover it up with my own lipstick. For whatever reason Sister P's worked just fine. Rude. But I guess it burned her lips when she put it on too... Maybe it's a sign we shouldn't wear it. Thursday we worked at the temple open house which was so fun! That night, Sister Thomas and Sister Larsen from up in Casper stayed the night with us so they could work at the open house Friday morning. We had SO MUCH FUN with those sweet sisters!!! I love them so much and I can't wait to be their best friends forever after the mission. We also worked at the temple open house on Friday night and that was a blast! So our shifts at the open house are usually from 2-9 which means we don't really have time to eat. So we have stocked up on granola bars and that is what we have been eating for our meals! I'm going to be so sick of granola bars after this open house though. Yesterday we had such a good day at church. Gil came and we had such an awesome lesson with him after church as well. He is so great! This week we went out to lunch with him and had such a blast. We went to IHOP and he made fun of me for getting chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. Oh well. It has been such a blessing to get to serve at the open house for the temple! I never in a million years would've thought I could do this! I am so grateful for this opportunity and for all of the blessings from the lord! I love you all and miss you so much!! Have a wonderful week!! Love, Sister Hooper Fun postcard thing from the temple Sister Larsen, Thomas, and P! We had a little sleep over in our living room because we needed to wash our bedding and it wasn't dry by bed time Love this scripture!

Hey y'all! Wow I feel like I just emailed everyone, but it's been a week and a half!! How did that happen?? This week has been so full of so many awesome and exciting things I can't even remember all of them. So the easiest way to make sure I talk about everything is to go day by day. Monday- Monday was awesome! We took Brittany, Alex and Gil through the Fort Collins Temple. They loved it!!! Alex was so cute because he kept running to the front of the line because he wanted to be first in all of the rooms. Both he and his sister's favorite part were the chandeliers in the temple. They are really pretty so I don't blame them! Gil loved the "forever mirrors" as he calls them, in the sealing rooms. He thought it was so cool how you can just see on and on for forever in those mirrors. The spirit was so strong in the temple and everyone could feel it. And then the happiest thing ever happened....I SAW HOWARD AND GRADY!!!!! For those of you who are new to these emails or don't remember two of my favorite people, they were up in Wheatland. Basically I couldn't stop smiling because I was so happy to see them. I also saw my friend Josh Layton who I went to BUYI with. He's in the Denver North mission and brought some of his investigators through. We were in the MTC at the same time and saw each other a bunch there so it was a cool reunion. Tuesday- I think we worked the temple open house and it was so awesome. Wednesday- I don't remember what happened in the morning, but we went to HNS, which is a place we volunteer, and did service there that afternoon. Oh we had district meeting in the morning and it was awesome! This is why I write in my journal every night. If I didn't I wouldn't remember anything. Thursday- We worked at the open house again and it was wonderful! So many people are coming to see the temple and it's so fun to get to talk with them and tell them more about the temple! Friday- That was a very crazy fun day. so that morning we taught Cindy who is the most amazing woman EVER!!! Oh I just love her so much!!! We had like a two hour lesson because she has so many questions and wants to know everything!!! She loves the church and is so excited to be a part of it. She wants her husband to be on board and do this with her, so we are now saying lots of prayers that he will want to learn about the church too! Then we moved! That was crazy because it was pouring when that happened. We are only going to be living at this house for a transfer and then we will move again. So my address for the next 6 weeks is 3895 Flagler Ave Loveland, CO 80538. After that we went to help out at Loveland's Annual Corn Roast! We spent 2 hours shucking corn. It was FREEZING and raining the whole time. It was so much fun though!! Saturday- GIL GOT BAPTIZED!!! Oh my word it was such a wonderful day! I have never seen someone so happy. He came out of that water just beaming. He kept commenting about how good he felt! He bore his testimony and said some beautiful things about how his only desire is to follow God, and that by being baptized he knows he is on the right path. Then we went to the temple for another shift. Saturday was a super crazy busy day at the temple. I saw my Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Michael which was fun! They live south of Denver and so the came up and found me in the video room I was working in. They totally surprised me! Then after the shift we got transfer info and found out that sister P and I are staying together! YAY!!!! Sunday- Gil was confirmed and received the Holy Ghost! It was such a good day. I have never seen that man so happy before. The smile on his face was priceless. After he received the gift of the Holy Ghost, he sat down and said he has never felt so good in his life and how happy he was. It was amazing to see how the gospel of Jesus Christ can change our lives. Monday- we worked in the temple again! It was really busy and we lots of people came to the open house! After we went over and taught Brittany and Alex and had a fun lesson with them. Tuesday- we were working the open house all day long which was wonderful! I got to see so many people from my old areas! I saw the Micheli's from Cheyenne and that was such a happy moment to talk with them again! I also saw my uncle Jeff's mother in law who lives in the mission for the first time since him and my aunt got married. That was like 10-11 years ago! Wild. And then last night we got to have Sister Jenks and Sister Wesley stay with us before they head up to Laramie today! It was so fun to be with them! It was especially good to be with Sister J again! It's been almost 8 months since we were together. That girl is the best! I just want to share how amazing temples are! Temples are a sign of Heavenly Fathers love for us and how we are able to go back and be with Him again. There is so much peace, love, and joy that is found in the house of the Lord. It's heaven on earth! Well I love you all and hope you're doing well! I miss you all and I'll write soon!!! Love, Sister Hooper PS - my p-days are going to be super weird and mixed up the next couple of weeks. Howard!!! Grady!! Me and Alex Brittany, Ashley, and I Elder Layton (Josh) Corn Roast Gil's Baptism The Micheli's
Hey y'all! Another fantastic week here in Colorado! It went by so fast, but that seems to be the theme now. The weeks go by way faster than I want them to! So where to start.... On Tuesday we had some meetings I think. Oh wait I remember! We had a meeting in the morning, and when we went out to our car after the meeting, we had a flat tire! So we had to take it in and get the tire fixed. While we were waiting, we walked over to Lowe's and looked at paint colors and appliances because what else are we going to do? It was a blast actually. On Wednesday we had zone meeting and I gave a training about rules. It's funny because like the last two zone meetings I've had to give training at, they've been on obedience and rules. I think the zone thinks I'm the rule nazi or something. But Sister P and I sang a rousing rendition of "Ye Elders of Israel" with some elders from our zone and it was fun! After zone meeting, we went on exchanges with the Stetson Creek sisters and I got to be with Hermana Jeffries again! That was a blast!! We had an incredible lesson about the temple with a family that night. The spirit was so strong and I felt so grateful to get to share the message of the temple and the love Heavenly Father has for us with that family. On Saturday we got to do our first shift at the temple open house!!! It was the construction worker day, so all of the people that helped the temple be built in some way got to go through and see the temple. I was there from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and I was exhausted! We don't really get breaks and we can't eat or drink and we are on our feet all day, so sister P and I joke that it's the perfect diet plan haha. A bunch of people from the ward have told us they are going to sneak us food in the tent so that we don't die! But it's not bad at all. I'm having too much fun to even think about that stuff! And I got to learn so many cool facts about the building of the temple. Yesterday was awesome! Cindy came to church again and she loved it! She is so excited to keep learning more and she told us she plans on coming to church every week!! Yesterday afternoon was pretty much one of the coolest days of my mission. We received training from Wilford Andersen of the 70 for the temple open house. He taught us about being spiritually prepared and using the Holy Ghost always. After, he took us on a tour of the Fort Collins temple and we were able to record some very special teaching and counsel from him. It was incredible. Gil is still doing really good. He came with us to a baptism on Saturday and is getting excited for his baptism! It's looking good for him to be baptized on Saturday! He hasn't been feeling very good lately though, so hopefully he stays healthy and strong for his baptism on Saturday! This week I was really thinking about how we learn and grow here on earth. More specifically about how our purpose here is to learn about God and draw closer to Him. I felt very strongly that if we are feeling distanced from God, and that He might not be listening or paying attention to us, that it is because either we are seeking Him, or we aren't looking and listening to Him with our spiritual eyes and ears. I know that the only one who can hinder my spiritual progression towards God is myself! I cannot blame someone else for that. Of course we all go through hard times, but we are never abandoned and left alone. Our loving Heavenly Father and Savior are always there for us. I know that is true. I miss you all and love you so much! I am so grateful for the love and support I receive from you! Hope you have an incredible week!! Love, Sister Hooper Hermana Jeffries! Sister Hoffman, Hermana Jeffries and us! Our celebratory first temple shift worked snack All of the sister serving in Colorado! We couldn't fit all of the
sisters in the mission, so Wyoming took their own picture. Hey y'all! It's been another wonderful week here in Loveland, Colorado! The week went by so quick! They all seem to go by really fast actually and it's really rude because the time is flying by! So as I said last week, we went to the temple on Tuesday and it was amazing! I have missed being able to go to the House of the Lord and feel His spirit and love! That night we taught Brittany and Alex about the Ten Commandments and it was the best lesson we've had with them! They were so well behaved and understood everything and listened! It was a miracle! On Wednesday, we went on exchanges with the Fossil Creek sisters and I got to be with Sister Meadows!! The was so much fun to be her companion again and see how far she's come and how much she's grown since the beginning of her mission! I am so proud of her and the incredible missionary she's become! On Thursday we had a super awesome district meeting, and then went and helped a member paint after. It was a really great day and we we able to see and teach lots of awesome people. Right before dinner, we went to a members home to teach their friend about the temple and why they are important and why we have them. It was a great experience. On Friday we went to MLC's! It was so so so good! We had some awesome trainings about being better leaders and how we can improve our mission. I was super pumped afterwards to go and do lots of awesome missionary work! And so we did! It was great! I got to see lots of my missionary friends at MLC's which is always so much fun! Friday night we had a lesson with Jason and Stephanie about the importance of going to church and making that effort, even if it's a sacrifice. They are still working towards their baptismal date and hopefully they will get there! Stephanie said the closing prayer for our lesson and it was so funny because she didn't want to at first, and then their roommate was like, "Come on Steph! You can do it! You're like God's MVP! His Most Valuable Pray-er!" It was great. Saturday morning we had a zone breakfast with our stake president. He gave this awesome training about Esther and how just as she had been prepared to save the Jews, we are prepared and placed where the Lord needs us. He has and is giving us opportunities to help Him and accomplish His purpose. I am grateful for the knowledge that our Heavenly Father loves us and has such an incredible and glorious plan for each one of us. Sunday the coolest miracle happened! Sister P and I got the mission to do a fast for a hastening of the work. We were all fasting to see miracles happen and to find those who are prepared to learn about the gospel. Sunday morning we met Cindy. We got to church a little later than usual because sister p was sick yesterday morning. We got out of the car and I said hi to a lady I didn't recognize that was walking in at the same time we were. We got talking and she told us that she wasn't a member and didn't know if she was allowed to come into the church or not. We told her of course she was welcome and to come sit by us. Her sister is a member of the church and she's been wanting to go to a service for a while to see what it's like. We explained to her that today was fast and testimony day and that anyone has the opportunity to share their testimonies. She thought it was beautiful and loved it. She stayed for the rest of church and told us that she knows she needs to go here because this is what will help her progress. It was the most incredible miracle!! I just love serving a mission! I is the greatest thing ever. It definitely has its challenges and difficult times, but it is all worth it because I've drawn so much closer to my Savior as I have depended on Him to help me through! I miss you all so much and I hope everything is going good! Love, Sister Hooper Temple Pictures! We all came out of the MTC together and get to reunite at MLC's! MLC group picture. Please ignore whatever weird thing my body is doing. Disclaimer, all of the elders behind me had to stand on their tip toes. They were all really angry at me for being tall. I told them to do more calf raises. All of the STL's! Colorado, sharing their opinions with pride.
Hey y'all! So sorry for the p-day switch. Sister Pattillo and I had the opportunity to go to the Denver temple today and that means we switch our p-day since the temple isn't open on Mondays. This week was way good! Last Monday we had so much fun! So there is a new development in our area and they have 3 model homes there. So Sister P and I went to go look at all of the model homes! It was a blast. We took lots of pictures so don't even worry. These pictures are gems. Then on Tuesday we went on exchanges with the sisters in Berthoud. I stayed here in Loveland with Sister Robinson who is like the coolest person on the planet. She was born and raised in East London and then moved to Ohio and has the greatest accent ever. We had a crazy busy day. We did service, and then had a lesson, then went to dinner, and had lessons the rest of the night. She's such an incredible teacher! Plus she's hilarious so we had so much fun together. On Wednesday, Sister P and I got to be together for like 3 hours before we exchanged with some other sisters. Those three hours were spent in meetings so we didn't get to really be back together. After district meeting, we exchanged with the Big Thompson sisters and the greatest thing ever happened. I GOT TO BE COMPS WITH SISTER MICKELSEN FOR 24 HOURS! For those who don't remember who she is, Sister Mickelsen was my MTC comp! It was so much fun to be with her! The best part was seeing how far we've actually come over these last 11 months. We were reminiscing about how awful we were at teaching in the MTC and how we had no clue what we were doing. We found lots of people for them to teach and taught a lot of lessons which was awesome. We have both agreed that our dying wish is going to be to be companions for our last transfer. We will see if it happens! Friday's we sing at Aspen House, which is a home for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. We sing them hymns for an hour and it's always one of my favorite parts of the week. There is a lady there who is a member of the church and she tries to sing along with us, but usually doesn't know the words, so she just makes noises. On Friday, we were singing "I Am a Child of God" and she sang every word perfectly. It was one of the sweetest things I've seen. I know that we are all Gods children and that He loves us and knows our situations perfectly. He cares for each on of us so deeply. It was amazing to see her sing. Sunday was amazing! Gil came to church and had an awesome experience. We had an amazing lesson with him Saturday night that totally prepared him for church on Sunday. We figured out what a lot of his concerns are. It all has to do with prophets and the fact that he doesn't know if prophets are called of God. The talks on Sunday were about prophets and they answered so many of his questions. In Sunday school we talked about fasting and Gil LOVED it. After class, he came up to me and was like, "I want to fast next week so bad! I love that we pray before we fast! It's going to be so good!" He cracks me up. He is on date for August 20th and we think he will be ready by then! We are so excited for him!! We got to go to the temple today and it was amazing. The temple is my most favorite place on earth because it's where I feel closest to God. It provides the most amazing comfort and peace. I love my Savior and I love this gospel. I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ restored into the earth today. I love being able to share the gospel and it's amazing message with all those around me. I hope you all have a wonderful week!! I love you and miss you all!! Love, Sister Hooper Boyd Lake All of the Colorado sisters at the temple training Sister Robinson, Sister Hilder, and us. Sister Mickelsen, Sister Francom and us. When you're dying of heat
Hey y'all! It's been quite the week here in Loveland! This past week, we had the opportunity to go on exchanges with the sisters serving in Wellington, CO, Sister Lucas and Sister Jacobsen. They are both super awesome and so much fun! I stayed here with Sister Jacobsen and that was cool because she served in this ward a while ago and was able to help me figure out who people were! Such a blessing! We also had interviews with President McMurray. I just love him so much! He asked me lots of questions about my knee because he wanted to make sure it was still working and stuff. He and Sister McMurray came to our district meeting after and that was so fun to have them there. At the end of the meeting we played hot seat and made Sister McMurray go. She had asked like all of the missionaries who their favorite sibling was, so then we asked her who her favorite child was. She had it coming for her!! Then we taught Jason and Stephanie this week and brought our Bishop with us! It was a really great lesson with them! We set them for a new baptism date of September 24th, and then get them to set a marriage date. They are planning on getting married somewhere between the 10-15th of September. Sister P and I are going to be their bridesmaid/witnesses because in Colorado all you have to do is have someone witness while you sign your license. You could even have your dog witness if you wanted to! On Saturday we had a Pioneer Day picnic and it was a ton of fun! Jason and Stephanie came and so did some less actives we have been working with. It was so great to see them there and having a good time! There is a recently returned mission president and wife in our ward that gave their homecoming talks yesterday. A bunch of missionaries from their mission came to support them. There were soooooooo many RM's it was bizarre. They all kept coming up to us asking us our names, where we were from, how long we had been out, stuff like that. It was really funny because when we walked in they all turned to us and yelled, "Sisters!!!! Hey sisters!" I felt so welcomed. It was weird to think that in not that long, I am going to be a returned missionary! Ahhh scary thought!!! Also, Sister P is wonderful. We are becoming better and better friends every day. We have discovered that we are basically the same person and it's fantastic. I love this girl so much!!! I hope you all are doing so good! I know the gospel is true! I have seen it work in and change my life and the lives of those around me. I know that if we turn to Christ, He will take us and make us better than we ever could imagine! I love you all so much!! Love, Sister Hooper When you go hunting in Alaska... When you go hunting in Russia... so much love for Sister P
Hey y'all! So this week has been so so so so so wonderful! My dreams came true and Sister Pattillo is now my companion! I have wanted to be her companion for my whole mission and now it's finally happened! We are having such a blast here in Loveland! Monday was crazy! I said goodbye to Sister Tanner which was so sad! I got an email from her today though and she is alive and well in Canada which is good! But I miss her so much! I was temporary companion with Hermana Mella-Caro and she is just a blast. We had so much fun! She is from Canada as well and has never had a slurpee before.... So since it was 7/11 on Monday, we stopped at 7/11 and got her one! She loved it. Tuesday was also insane! I had no clue that STL's had so much work to do during transfers! I was running back and forth from Loveland to Windsor picking up sisters and dropping them off so that everyone had a companion and got to where then needed to be. And then I picked up sister P and that was a blast and got to talk with my MTC comp Sister Mickelsen!!!! She is training and in my district and I am her STL! So basically I am pumped!!!! We had zone meeting on Thursday and Sister P and I had to prepare a training on obedience and the doctrine of Christ and it went really great so that was exciting! We saw lots and lots of people this week and had some amazing lessons. I just love being a missionary so much and I am so grateful that I get to serve here! And then one of my favorite members from the ward gave me a whole bag of Otter Pops because I told her how much I love them! And anyone who knows me knows how much I love my Otter Pops. It was the greatest day ever. Okay so Sister P is crazy. We were trying to contact some less actives on Saturday, and as we were walking up to the door, I noticed I snake on the side of their house. Well it looked fake to me and I thought, maybe they're just big into displaying animals they've killed and they decided to put a snake here to freak people out. Well I told that to Sister P and we walked closer to look at it. When we got closer, the snake moved really quick towards us and bit Sister Pattillo's ankle! We didn't know what kind of snake it was so we had to rush her to the hospital. We got there and determined it was not poisonous and that she would live. Just kidding, it just did that creepy snake tongue flick-y thing. But we still weren't convinced. So THEN Sister P wanted to touch it!!!! She touched the tail once and it flinched a little bit like it was saying, "homegirl, don't touch me. I am a creepy scary snake." And THEN she decided to touch it again! This time the snake jumped from the wall to strike at her. Luckily, it didn't bite her or touch her and we ran away screaming. Don't worry, we got it all on video. Well I hope everyone is having such a wonderful week and doing so great! I miss you all and love you so much! Remember how much your Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ love you!! Love, Sister Hooper PS - if anyone knows what kind of snake this is, let us know! I got to see the temple lots this week! So of course I took pictures every time. Classy bathroom pic with Sister Pattillo Elder Lester, Sister Mickelsen, and Sister Wesley. We all came out of the MTC together! Sister Meadows with ALL of her comps! We are all in the same zone now! The snake Sister Pattillo and I I front of the temple!
Hey y'all!!! So it's going to be short this week since Sister Tanner is being very rude and GOING BACK TO CANADA!!! She has been one of the greatest blessings of my mission! I am so grateful for her and everything she has done for me. she has taught me so much and has just been the greatest companion I could've asked for right now. She won't be able to get rid of me though because I'll just follow her around BYU-I after the mission and then go visit her in Canada since I've always wanted to go there! Score for me! We found out our transfer information and I am staying here in Loveland which I am super excited about! And even more exciting, my new companion is Sister Patillo who I love so much! She is the sweetest sister and I think the world of her! It's going to be so much fun to be her companion! I am no long speaking Spanish... Which makes me really sad! But it was such an incredible experience and one I am so grateful for! This week was crazy! We did a lot of tracting since Sister Tanner LOVES tracting and it was her last week as a missionary! So we did a lot of tracting in 100 degree weather. It kind of was the worst so I don't recommend it to anyone. To all of the missionaries serving in Arizona and the south, my hat goes off to you!!! Gil seems to be doing so much better. He came to church yesterday and he gave me some lavender oil to help me sleep which was really nice of him! And Jason and Stephanie came back from vacation so we got to see them last night which was awesome!! Since it's been so hot here, everyone is wearing the least amount of clothes possible. For example.... At dinner last night, one of the boys who is 12 was just laying in his underwear because it was too hot to put clothes on. He then joined us at the dinner table... In his underwear. I died laughing. Then every male over the age of 16 feels the need to walk around without a shirt on and I'm like, "Buddy!!! I am a missionary and you are being very distracting!!!" Sister Tanner thinks that unless they look like Thor or Captain America, they should have a shirt on. I don't think that would help with the distraction though.... Anyways, I hope you all are doing good!! I miss you all a lot and love you! I hope you have a fantastic week!!! Love, Sister Hooper When the plant is taller than you are... Colorado palm trees Jason and Stephanie and their roommates Brandon and Dee Our last picture together :( :(
Hey y'all! This has been a super weird fast/slow week. The beginning of the week just flew by! So on Tuesday, Hermana Tanner and I went on our last exchange of the transfer! Being an STL over 5 sets of sisters is crazy, but also so fun! We exchanged with Sister Wesley and Sister Meadows! I was with Sister Wesley for this exchange and it was a little bit different than usual. Sister Wesley had a surgery done last Monday, so she was recovering on Tuesday and had to stay inside. So I spent the day talking to the lady they live with which was a blast. Poor Sister Wesley slept all day and was in so much pain. But she is doing better now! That girl is such a trooper I love her so much! We had MLC's on Friday and got to meet our new mission president, President McMurray, and his wife. It was such an incredible MLC! The spirit was so strong and we were able to talk a lot about how to really become more unified as a mission and help the missionaries. President and Sister McMurray are awesome!!! I love them so much already! I am so excited for the opportunity to serve with them in Fort Collins! Saturday morning we had a zone conference so that the rest of the missionaries could meet President and Sister McMurray. They still have family at home, so they brought their kids with them. They have three kids ages 12, 14, and 16. I don't know how their family is able to do what they are doing! They are so strong and I am grateful for their sacrifice! Saturday evening was going to be a regular night. We were going to contact some potential investigators and see a new investigators. We pulled into the neighborhood and found like 7 cop cars, a bunch of police tape, and some very suspicious individuals standing around. We couldn't tell if it was our investigators house or not that the police were around, so we looked on our GPS and determined that we could walk around the block to see if they were involved or not. Luckily, they aren't involved in this lovely drug ring, so that was good! When we walked back to our car, we said hi to the cops as they were removing all the police tape. They were really friendly and strangely happy. I guess busting a meth house does that to cops. But don't worry mom, I am completely safe here in Colorado. Hermana Tanner and I started feeling a little under the weather on Saturday, and then it totally hit on Sunday morning. We woke up and felt and looked like we had been hit by trucks. We went to church and went out and worked after church, and then got a blessing from the elders because we could've sworn we had the Black Plague. We learned though that you don't get the Black Plague from other people so it ruled that option out. We are feeling a little bit better today, but still not 100%. Good thing it's a p day and we don't feel awful for laying around the house. My Spanish is coming along. I can now say the First Vision and invite someone to be baptized in Spanish which is super exciting. I don't know if President McMurray is going to keep me Spanish speaking or not.... But I guess I'll find out this weekend since transfers are happening next week! My heart is breaking because Hermana Tanner is leaving me to go back to Canada next week. So rude of her. I hope everyone is doing good and is having a good Fourth of July!!! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve a mission at this time and share this message with those around me! I love you and miss you all!!! Love, Hermana Hooper Another picture from the triathlon Pictures I took before it thunder-stormed MLC's Hermana T and I with one of our favorite elders who is going home this transfer
Hey y'all!! So I am really brain dead right now but I am going to try to make this email make sense in the shortest, quickest way possible!! This week we went on two exchanges! I got to be with the lovely Hermana Snyder here in Loveland! She is just a blast. She is so happy and kind and just loves the work!! Her Spanish is perfect and so of course I was breaking a commandment and envying her skills! But she was so sweet to me and really helped me with my Spanish as well!! The next day I got to go to a tiny town in eastern Colorado called Yuma! I was with another incredible sister, Hermana Jefferies. She is just a little angel here on earth! That girl is so sweet and kind and just fabulous! I had such a blast learning from her on exchanges!! On Thursday, Sister Tanner and I finally reunited! We had only been together for 2 hours total the whole week up to that point so we were so pumped to get back to work as companions in Loveland! Saturday we got to help out with a triathalon and now I am just super motivated to go and do one when I get home. These people were so awesome and I had a blast cheering them on!! I yelled out at this one point, "Keep it up!! You're fantastic!!" And this one guy who was running yelled back, "No YOU are fantastic!!" It was pretty great!! We were handing out water and Gatorade to runners as they came by, and this one guy grabs some Gatorade, drinks a tiny bit of it, then throws it over his shoulder, where it lands on me. Score. We had some amazing lessons this week as well. Last night Sister Tanner and I contacted these people who thought they knew ALL about the church, so they sat there and preached at us what we believe. We put a stop to that stuff pretty quickly though and hopefully dispelled some of the rumors! On Saturday something super cool happened! Sister Tanner and I got home and these people were sitting outside of our house. We were super confused and when we got out of the car, they were like, "Hey Sister Hooper!" I looked at them again because they looked sooo familiar. Well it was a couple from my home ward who's sister lives in Loveland and they stopped by because my sweet mother saw on Facebook they were in Fort Collins and told them to see me! It was way fun to have a surprise and see some familiar faces! Also, Gil was supposed to be baptized this weekend, but we haven't finished teaching him all the lessons, so we are going to hold off until a little later so that he is fully ready!! The baptism should hopefully happen in the next couple of weeks though!!! I miss you all soooo much and I hope everyone is doing good! I love you!!! Love, Sister Hooper Sister Wesley and Sister Meadows When you are waiting for triathletes.... We walked two miles to and from our cars for lunch! Hermana Jefferies y Hermana Areno
