So it's gonna be a quick one today! We've been running from thing to thing lately and have approximately 0 time for anything except temple open house, finding, and teaching, so life has been GREAT!
This past week we had the opportunity to attend MLC which was so wonderful as always! We received some amazing training about loving others and helping them to feel the love their Heavenly Father has for them as well. One of my favorite parts was a training done by our mission councilor. He talked about how we have a responsibility to get the rocks out of the way for those we serve. That means we need to do whatever we can to help others make it through whatever their struggles might be. It was a really neat way to look at helping and serving others.
On Friday night we got an awesome new investigator names Bryan. We received a referral for him weeks ago and had been knocking his door for so long, but never any answer... Turns out we had been knocking the wrong door the whole time! Silly us. So then we found the right now, knocked and this guy opened it and goes, "Hey guys! Come on in!" Well I'm sure you know that my jaw hit the ground because no one is ever that nice to us. We couldn't go in because we didn't have another girl with us, but we were able to talk to Bryan for a while on his porch. He told us that he has had coworkers that have been sharing the gospel with him for about a year and he's already stopped chewing tobacco and is trying to stop drinking coffee. AMAZING! Bryan went to the temple open house last week and knew he needed to learn more about the church because he felt the same way in the temple that he does
when he's on the mountain, and that's when he feels closest to God. So tonight we are going over to have our first lesson and we are pumped!
Cindy is doing amazing! She has been reading like a mad woman in the Book of Mormon and had a really great experience in the temple. She told us that things are finally clicking for her and that she knows she is where she needs to be!
As a final thought, I wanted to talk about Isaiah 2:3 because my mind has been on the temple A LOT recently. The scripture talks about going to the mountain of the lord and being taught in His ways. The temple is symbolic of a mountain for many reasons. We go there to get away from the world, to be on a higher plane and be closer to our Heavenly Father. We go to the temple to learn and grow. The Lord wants all of His children to enter the temple and learn of Him. What a blessing to have temples on the earth today!
I miss you all so much! I am grateful for all of you and the love and support you give! Have a wonderful week!!
