As always, it has been quite the crazy week! So to start off.... the transfer news! I am so so so sad because I am leaving my beloved Boyd Lake ward! I'm heading down to Berthoud, CO with the wonderful Sister Maxwell! We are sweeping Berthoud and if you've been counting, this is my 5th area and 5th sweep so it will be a super fun and exciting adventure!
This week was really awesome! We started off the week with exchanges with the Left Hand Creek sisters in Longmont, Sister Bertha and Sister Corrigan. It was AWESOME! I went to Longmont with Sister Bertha and had such a good time with her! She is amazing and so much fun! I love her to pieces!
General Conference this weekend was so wonderful. I am so grateful for such inspired leaders who teach us how we can better follow the Savior. We got fed so much good food by the members that had us over for the different sessions. I don't think I've eaten so much food since last holiday season. But it was a blast!
We had a way cool miracle this week. We were trying to contact some people, like always, and they weren't home, which happens a lot. So we were waking back to the car when we see this older gentleman getting mail out of the mail box. He dropped a piece of mail and Sister P ran over to help him out. He was super kind and we got talking about what we were doing as missionaries. He found out we were Mormon and goes, "Oh I love Mormons! If I wasn't catholic I would totally be Mormon!!" He then went on to tell us how he actually doesn't even go to the Catholic Church anymore but there are just some things he has a hard time with in our faith. So we gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon and invited him to read it. He promised us he would because he is really interested in it and wants to know! What a blessing and miracle!!
Last night we had dinner with our bishop and his wife. As we walked up to their house, he was sitting on his porch playing his guitar. When he saw us, he called out, "Sisters! Come sit on either side of me and sing while I play!" So we sat down and sang hymns while he figured out how to play them by ear. It was so fun and a really sweet moment. I am so grateful for the amazing members here in the Boyd Lake Ward. It has been such a blessing to serve here and I am so grateful for the kindness and love they have shown me.
I am grateful for the opportunity I have to serve at this time. My heart is so full with gratitude to Heavenly Father for His love and the blessings He has given me. Every day here is so great for so many different reasons. I have felt and seen the redeeming and changing power of the atonement not only in my life, but in those around me as well. What a blessing it is to have a Savior!
I love you all so much and I hope you have a great week!
