Hey y'all! These weeks are just zipping past and it's super rude because that means my mission is going faster than I want it to!!! But it was another wonderful week!
So on Tuesday we had our last zone conference with President and Sister Brown. It was amazing; the best zone conference of my mission so far. They are just so incredible. I love the Browns and their dedication and love they have for the Lord, the FOCO mission, and us missionaries. They are so inspired and care so much for this work. I am so sad that they only have two weeks left! But I am also super excited for President and Sister McMurray to get to the mission! I know they will be awesome!
Okay I almost died this week!!! We were at this recent convert's house, and they had cooked us some super good Chinese food and so I was just sitting there, enjoying my food, talking to this family about how the manager of their apartment complex hates us because she thinks we are "soliciting Jesus" and that she yells at us every time we are at that complex. The dad was like, "What!? Soliciting!? Oh I'm gonna go tell her off!" His wife goes, "riiiiggggghhhtttt... What are you even going to say to her?" And he says, "Back off of my sisters!" Well I just started laughing SO hard that a piece of meat I just ate went down the wrong pipe so I was choking and laughing and wheezing and essentially I was just a hot mess. Everyone was very concerned, I was very red. And it was just very awkward. But I'm alive so all is well!
We met with one of our investigators who just got back in town this week! His name is Gil and he is such a sweet man! He loves God so much and loves talking about the word of God with everyone around him. Gil is set to be baptized on the 2nd of July and we are so excited for him. He came to church yesterday and had a really good time. We hope he can make his baptismal date. He has a lot of work to do, but we think he can get there!
We had some really powerful lessons with Jason and Stephanie this week. Every time we meet with them, my love for them just grows stronger! They are truly some of the most caring and loving people I've ever met. Last night we talked a lot about how much God loves us, that He is so mindful of us and is has a perfect plan for each one of us. Our lessons with them are always so spiritual.
I am so grateful for Hermana Tanner because I could not do this without her. There have been so many times and so many lessons where I just know it was meant to be that we had to be together. We have so much fun together and just love to do missionary work. She is such a blessing in my life!
On Saturday, we were out contacting for a couple of hours and just pretty much dying it was so hot. We walked past this yard sale and this lady called us over and asked if we wanted some lemonade. We said yes and started talking about their life and the gospel and all sorts of stuff. At the end of the conversation, we invited them to meet with missionaries again and they said yes which was awesome! We had to refer them to some other missionaries though because they aren't in our area, but that's okay! They are such sweet people and we are excited to see what happens!
I am just loving every minute of mission life and it's going by way too fast! I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I am so grateful for His sacrifice and atonement. The atonement can help every single one of us no matter what struggles and trials we might go through. Don't ever forget to turn to Him and ask for help. I love you all and hope you're all doing well!!
Love, Sister Hooper
We built a little temple out of Legos! Also, I don't have scrapes on my knees,
I was kneeling down for a long time
Saturday when we were dying.
