This past week has been one heck of an adventure! So I told you about the flood we had last Monday, and it seemed that the flood was only the beginning! We were woken up early Friday morning to what I thought was Sister Meadows alarm clock. Turns out, it was actually our carbon monoxide alarm going off! About a week an a half ago it had been going off and while we were gone, so the landlord came to see what was up with it. Well if went off again Friday morning and we jumped out of bed, threw on some shoes, and then called the other sisters in Laramie to go hang out at their apartment. We called our landlord and he had a plumber/heating guy come over to scope it out. Apparently our ventilation system is all wacked up and when it is cold outside, it doesn't let the gasses out through the chimney from the furnace. So basically all of those gasses get trapped in the vents and come back out into the house. He said their was a mix of carbon monoxide among other fun things so they have to come and redo the whole system. But we got a new carbon monoxide detector make sure that we can still live. Go technology! I also fell down our stairs and it was super funny.
We have also started to do service playing bingo at an old folks home here and it is sooooo much fun! The main guy I help with at bingo is named Russ and he is the bomb. He can't speak so he uses an iPad that has a bunch of preprogrammed words and phrases. He is a Broncos fanatic and was so pumped for the super bowl. We go do bingo three times a week, and every day we were there he was decked head to toe in Broncos stuff, had his nails painted blue and orange, and then he kept putting the phrases, "I am so excited to see the Broncos play in the super bowl!" Over and over again. I can't wait to go see him this week because I know he is going to be pumped that they won! He is just the sweetest. There is another guy named Herb who is a hoot. We have a friendly bingo competition and we trash talk each other the whole time. Sadly I have yet to win a game so I think Herb has the upper hand there.
This week was super successful for us lesson wise! We were able to meet more people and are really getting the hang of how it all works here. We spent a good portion of the day Saturday tracting and working our way through the potential investigators list in our area book. We were able to find a lot of people and make some good progress. There have been a lot of miracles that have come through that. We were at this one apartment looking for a girl who had been taught before, and the girl that answered the door wasn't her, but she told us that her sister and brother in law are members and that she was busy that second, but wants us to come back later this week. So we are gonna go meet with her and see what happens!
Oh and we got to go on exchanges with our STL's this week and I was reunited with my lovely Sister Jenks! We spent 24 in Laramie and it was wonderful! I miss her soooooo much! It was seriously the greatest thing to be back with her. We had been comps for almost 5 months! That's a long time! I just love her to pieces and so it was great to see her!!!!
I absolutely love this gospel and sharing it with others! I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to share it with others! I know this gospel is true and that it brings so much peace and happiness
into my life. I love you and miss you all!!!
