Hey everyone! So to get us started, I have a couple funny stories:
So earlier this week, one of my roommates here at ye olde MTC told me that I talked in my sleep. It's not unusual for me to do that so I wasn't surprised. Anyways I asked her what I said and she said that in the middle of the night, I sat up in bed and said "I know its true". My companion and I are practicing teaching so much here that I am doing it in my sleep now too.
Second story: so everyone knows that Mormons are insanely good at everything musical (all except me). So anyways all the girls are like incredible at singing and in the showers at night they start singing and harmonizing and I feel like I am in Pitch Perfect 3: The Mormons. So on Tuesday night I am showering and all of a sudden one of the girls starts singing "God Bless America" and I thought okay whatever, you go girl. But then other girls started joining in and harmonizing and adding little oohs and ahhs and it was the most spiritually rousing version of that song I've ever heard. I didn't know if I should put my hand over my heart or not because it was so patriotic. Last night we heard some Taylor Swift arrangements, sometimes you get a little Disney. Its always a surprise.
There have been some awesome things happening this week. We have been teaching an investigator in Mexico over Skype and she is amazing!!! Her name is Carolina, and Sister Mickelsen and I love her so much. She is so sweet and so eager to learn. She grew up Catholic, but has been going to school in Provo to learn english. She had some friends tell her about the church and referred her to the MTC to learn more. She is in Mexico right now because she was having Visa problems. Anyways, last night we taught her the restoration and it was awesome. The spirit was so strong even over skype. We got her to pray at the end of the lesson, and it was the most beautiful prayer I have ever heard. All she said was "Please help me to believe and please help me to have faith". But that simple prayer was incredible because she knows in her heart that this is right and true and wants to know more! Whenever Sister Mickelsen and I finish teaching these lessons we walk out of there so happy and so full of love because we feel Gods love for her!!
Its been a hard week, but I have been having such an amazing time and experiencing so many amazing things. I love this church and I can't wait to get to Colorado on Tuesday!
I love you all so much!!
