Hello everyone! Hope y'all are having a great week as we get ready to celebrate Christmas. This week has been a great one for Sister J and I and we have been loving every minute of this amazing Christmas season as we focus more on the savior and His birth.
So Tuesday we experienced a full-fledged Wyoming blizzard. It snowed all day and the winds were blowing so hard. We got a text from our zone leaders saying that it might be better if the missionaries didn't drive, so that means you either stay in all day, or you walk! Well Sister J and I were not about to go stir crazy, so we put on our snow gear and we walked, and it was probably the most fun I've had. We were walking through drifts that were up to our thighs and it was such a work out. We were able to stay pretty local and go visit people who were close to us. So it's really funny because everyone is outside when there is a blizzard because they are either shoveling or snow blowing. That meant we got to teach a ton of lessons. We even found a new investigator! We stopped by Evita’s house and she had forgotten her keys so she was locked out! She had been there for 30 minutes standing in that blizzard. And she was already sick! So Sister J and I bear hugged her and blocked the wind from her until her grandpa came to pick her up.
We got to do service with Virginia on Thursday, which was so much fun. She doesn't have any family around, so we spent the morning baking and wrapping presents with her. We were singing to Christmas music and just talking about lots of stuff. I love Virginia so much it's crazy! She invited us over to spend Christmas morning with her so that will be really fun! We have met the most awesome people here and I love this area so much.
We also taught a bunch of our investigators this week and made a lot of progress with them. One of the guys we teach agreed to be baptized once he receives the knowledge that the church is true. It was one of the most spiritual lessons I've ever been in. It was such a cool experience to really feel how much Heavenly Father loves each and every one of His children individually.
Yesterday was our ward’s Christmas program, and it was so awesome. Sister J and I were recruited to read this poem while the primary kids went up to sing. It was so awkward....but that's okay. We do it because we love the ward and they love us. We have gotten so much food. My body is now rejecting all things bread, cookies, and candy because we have SO MUCH OF IT. That is so sad too because those are my three favorite food groups, my momma knows that. I literally have a box filled with candy and I have no clue what to do with it. Feel free to send suggestions.
I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas! Don't forget the reason we celebrate this wonderful holiday. It isn't about gifts, it's about a Savior who loves us so much, He came to sacrifice our life, and that is the greatest gift. I love you all!
