So sorry for the p-day switch. Sister Pattillo and I had the opportunity to go to the Denver temple today and that means we switch our p-day since the temple isn't open on Mondays.
This week was way good! Last Monday we had so much fun! So there is a new development in our area and they have 3 model homes there. So Sister P and I went to go look at all of the model homes! It was a blast. We took lots of pictures so don't even worry. These pictures are gems.
Then on Tuesday we went on exchanges with the sisters in Berthoud. I stayed here in Loveland with Sister Robinson who is like the coolest person on the planet. She was born and raised in East London and then moved to Ohio and has the greatest accent ever. We had a crazy busy day. We did service, and then had a lesson, then went to dinner, and had lessons the rest of the night. She's such an incredible teacher! Plus she's hilarious so we had so much fun together.
On Wednesday, Sister P and I got to be together for like 3 hours before we exchanged with some other sisters. Those three hours were spent in meetings so we didn't get to really be back together. After
district meeting, we exchanged with the Big Thompson sisters and the greatest thing ever happened. I GOT TO BE COMPS WITH SISTER MICKELSEN FOR 24 HOURS! For those who don't remember who she is, Sister Mickelsen was my MTC comp! It was so much fun to be with her! The best part was seeing how far we've actually come over these last 11 months. We were reminiscing about how awful we were at teaching in the MTC and how we had no clue what we were doing. We found lots of people for them to teach and taught a lot of lessons which was awesome. We have both agreed that our dying wish is going to be to be companions for our last transfer. We will see if it happens!
Friday's we sing at Aspen House, which is a home for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. We sing them hymns for an hour and it's always one of my favorite parts of the week. There is a lady there who
is a member of the church and she tries to sing along with us, but usually doesn't know the words, so she just makes noises. On Friday, we were singing "I Am a Child of God" and she sang every word
perfectly. It was one of the sweetest things I've seen. I know that we are all Gods children and that He loves us and knows our situations perfectly. He cares for each on of us so deeply. It was amazing to see her sing.
Sunday was amazing! Gil came to church and had an awesome experience. We had an amazing lesson with him Saturday night that totally prepared him for church on Sunday. We figured out what a lot of his concerns are. It all has to do with prophets and the fact that he doesn't know if prophets are called of God. The talks on Sunday were about prophets and they answered so many of his questions. In Sunday school we talked about fasting and Gil LOVED it. After class, he came up to me and was like, "I want to fast next week so bad! I love that we pray before we fast! It's going to be so good!" He cracks me up. He is on date for August 20th and we think he will be ready by then! We are so excited for him!!
We got to go to the temple today and it was amazing. The temple is my most favorite place on earth because it's where I feel closest to God. It provides the most amazing comfort and peace. I love my Savior and I love this gospel. I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ restored into the earth today. I love being able to share the gospel and it's amazing message with all those around me.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!! I love you and miss you all!!
