Hey y'all! Laramie is just as awesome as ever! This week was CRAZY! On Tuesday I went on exchanges with sister J in Cheyenne and it was AWESOME!! I actually got stuck over there for three days because there was a crazy big snow storm and they closed the roads so I couldn't get back to Laramie. It was definitely a blessing though to be stuck in my greenie area with my favorite sister J!! But we eventually got back to Laramie and the work progressed! I seriously loved being in Cheyenne. I got to see some of the members we taught. We surprised them and they all freaked out which was really fun. When they opened the roads for us to go back, what normally would have taken 45 minutes took 2 hours because we were going from 5-15 miles an hour more than half the way back because of the semi trucks. It was nuts! Sarah had another crazy week. On Sunday night, one of her best friends and the girl's younger brother passed away in a car accident, and the next day another friend committed suicide because of the accident, and then another friend who has self harmed for years cut a major artery and passed away. All of this happened within 36 hours of each other. Sister Meadows and another sister taught her the plan of salvation this week (I was in Cheyenne). She is just being tried soooo much right now. I just keep thinking of the quote "Heavenly Father saves His toughest battles for His strongest soldiers." I think that perfectly describes Sarah. We taught three new investigators this week and set one of them on date for May 7th, and another investigator agreed to be baptized and we will set her on date next week! There is so much work and progress happening right now and transfers are coming up soon and I really don't want to leave. They typically take sisters out for breaks and I just want sisters to stay so that we can keep the work going here! This weekend was fantastic because we had the opportunity to here from our Prophet and apostles and other church leaders in General Conference. I am so very grateful for the opportunity we get to hear from this men and women who are called of God and provide direction and guidance. Right before general conference, we taught one of our investigators named Rocio. She's just the bomb. We talked about the 10 Commandments and some other questions she had. She asked what would happen to her if she got in trouble for breaking commandments. She told us that growing up Catholic in Mexico, they had some really crazy punishments. Like one time she had to be a live Virgin Mary in a parade because she sassed her teachers. We all got a good laugh out of that one. She came with us to one of the sessions of general conference, and then later that night texted us asking how much notice she had to give if she wanted to be baptized. She then proceed to tell us that she's already asked someone to baptize her!!! So crazy but so amazing! It just is a testament to me of the Lord preparing His children! I am just having a blast serving the Lord! I hope you all are doing so good! Don't ever forget that you're Heavenly Father loves you and that His Son Jesus Christ suffered for each one of us and He understands you perfectly. I love you all!!! Have a fantastic week! Love, Sister Hooper Us and the other sisters last Monday. Sister m is napping on my hand. ME AND SISTER J! Sister M and I on Saturday
