Hey y'all! Well it's been another fantastic and busy week for us here in Laramie!
To start off, we had a fantastic lesson with Sarah this week! We taught her lesson 1, the Restoration and it was AWESOME. She is so prepared it's crazy! The coolest thing for me is that at the end of the lessons or throughout the week, she will ask us questions and then go, that's what I thought! Or that makes total sense to me! It is seriously amazing how Heavenly Father has a plan for each and everyone of us. At the end of our lesson with her, we asked her if she would be baptized and she said yes!! So this coming week we are going to set her on date for baptism and we could not be more excited for her!
At district meeting this week we had a little surprise. President Brown came up to interview some Elders and he stayed for our meeting and it was awesome. He was able to offer guidance and advice that was a lot more personal because we weren't meeting with tons of other missionaries. He is so in tune with the spirit and knows exactly what each of us need. I am grateful for him and for his acceptance to serve the Lord.
We have also been teaching an investigator named Millie who is so cool. She didn't grow up in the US, and decided to come to America and be the first member of her family to escape poverty. She is going to school here at the University and will also be the first member of her family to have a college degree. She has such a strong faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and loves Him so much. We had an amazing lesson with Millie this week on how we know God is there for us. She was able to go back and pick out lots of times in her life when she knows Gods plan was in action for her. I feel so grateful to get to here those experiences that she's had and that she trusts us to let us know these things. She wants to follow Christ and do what He wants her to do.
I received a letter from a good friend two weeks ago who asked me a question. The question was, "when was the last time you turned to your companion and said "I love being a missionary"?" I say that to my companion all the time, but I started thinking and I want all of you to know that I LOVE being a missionary. There have been several times this week when I have paused and realized, holy cow I am on a mission! Sometimes I forget that I am actually doing this! Not because I am not being a missionary, but because I know that this is where I am supposed to be and it just feels so right and normal, that I forget! I love Wyoming and I love this work. This is the Lords work and it is the best most fulfilling work ever. I go to bed every night absolutely spent. I want to give everything I have to Him and serve Him to the very best of my abilities. I love this gospel. I know it is true. It has blessed me in every single aspect of my life. I know that living the gospel of Jesus Christ has made me happier than anything else. I have never been happier and I know that is because of my focus and desire to follow Christ. I would invite all of you, if you are looking for happiness and comfort, to turn to Christ. Full peace and happiness comes from Him.
I love and miss you all! I hope you have an incredible week! Thanks for all of the love and support. It means the world!
Love, Sister Hooper
