Hey y'all! Let me start off by saying that we had the most beautiful week here in Laramie. It was in the 50's and the sun was shining and now I am ready for spring! This week was soooooo nuts. We were insanely busy and didn't have 2 seconds to take a breath. But that is the best as a missionary. I love being busy! I went to bed absolutely exhausted every single night and that is such a great feeling!
Alright, first thing I would like to share this week! So we have an investigator named Sarah who is awesome. We met her through her old roommate who is actually a less active. We met with Sarah for our first lesson on Tuesday and she just asked us questions the whole time. She grew up in a very Catholic home and she hasn't always agreed with a lot of the things she was taught. She had a ton of questions and any time she asked, she would get "just because" answers. When we had our first meeting with her, she asked us those questions and we gave her answers and that was super neat. And then she came to church yesterday and had such a great experience! So sacrament meeting was slightly worrisome because we were talking about the Word of Wisdom, which we haven't gotten to share with her yet, but she totally took it in stride and was like cool! The Sunday school lesson was all about receiving answers to prayers, and she told us that now she knows she can get an answer to know the truthfulness of the gospel and how it will come to her. Seriously it was awesome and Sarah is so awesome!
Yesterday morning we got a call from one of the AP's who had served in Laramie YSA at the beginning of his mission. He told us that he found the address for a less active that we have been looking for. We took that as a sign from Heavenly Father that we should probably go and see her, so last night we headed over to that address. We knocked on the door and a girl answered and we introduced ourselves and told her that we were missionaries and asked her about whether or not she had heard of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints before. She gave us a super weird look and said yes and so we asked her what she knew about the church. She told us she was a member!!! We were like what?! We've never seen you before! Turns out she just moved to Laramie a couple of weeks ago and that she was baptized last May. We got talking and she told us about her conversion story. She also told us that she has really been struggling lately and having a hard time feeling close to God and she was starting to go back to doing some things that weren't the greatest. We got to talk with her and talk about the atonement, how Christ knows our pains and sufferings, and that even though it feels like we are at a super low, He is right there is pick us up. I know that Heavenly Father guided us to her home for a reason. I am so grateful for promptings from the Spirit and that Heavenly Father knows us each perfectly and individually.
We also had a zone meeting and interviews with President Brown this week. The zone meeting was so good! We talked a lot about how being exactly obedient brings blessings and will bring us closer to the Lord. I love zone meetings because they help me know what I need to do to be a better missionary and servant of Christ. I also love President Brown. He is such an incredible mission president and helps me so much. He provided answers to questions that I have been praying about. He also just helped me to feel at peace and know that I am doing exactly what I need to be doing. I am grateful for his love of this gospel and his desire to help us missionaries be the best we can be!
I am absolutely loving serving here in the YSA. It is so fun and such a neat experience to serve with these people who are my age. I know that this gospel is such a blessing and that it helps us in ALL
aspects of our lives. It will provide peace and comfort in times when it seems like we have nowhere to turn. The Lord is always there for us. We just have to turn to Him.
I miss and love you all! I hope y'all have such a great week!
