This week has FLOWN by! I seriously feel like I just emailed yesterday! Life is good here in Laramie. We are still trying to figure everything out, like people and places and stuff. But it's all starting to come together. I am able to get us around to a lot of the major places without a GPS which I am very proud of!
So awkward moment number 1:
Sister Meadows and I were walking into Family Home Evening on Monday and they hadn't told anyone what the plan was. So we were walking in and I turned to her and went, "Just watch it be speed dating or something like that". Well we walked in and guess who was right. So the good news is we got to talk to guys and girls, but I felt so bad for all the guys cause I know it was so awkward. Every time one of them sat across from me I would apologize and we would establish that we were going to just be friends.
Awkward moment 2:
Our basement flooded this morning! Oh y'all it's so bad! Everything was good, like we had gotten ready and were grabbing some breakfast, when we hear this splashing. So the other sisters in our area come over to do laundry at our place and we all ran downstairs to see what was going on. Well the drain in the middle of the floor had water bubbling and backing up out of it, water was leaking from under the washing machine, a bunch of nasty water and stuff backed up out of the bathtub, and then we had water coming out from under the toilet. There was a good couple of inches on the floor and that was a mess. We called our land lady and she called a plumber so HOPEFULLY everything will get sorted out so that we can you know, live in our apartment.
This week was way awesome though! We got to go down to Colorado for a training meeting and it was amazing. President Brown talked about our purpose and how we are doing so much better than we give ourselves credit for. Our GPS took us back to Laramie in a very weird way and it added a ton of time onto the commute, but we jammed out to some Lower Lights and that was good.
These wards are awesome! We receive tons of referrals and they have some many people for us to talk to. The people here are so ready to receive the gospel and so eager to learn more.
We've been trying to get to know everyone here and that has been hard, but they are all sooooo nice! There are some amazing recent converts here who have the neatest stories. They have given up so much to follow Christ and I look up to them so much. We have been working with and meeting a lot of the less actives here and they are also so cool. I love seeing how Heavenly Father places us in areas because of our past experiences. So many people have helped me come closer to the Savior and better understand His words for us.
This week I've been studying a lot in John and how the Savior gives everything for those whom He serves. I love John 9 and the story of the man receiving his sight. We are all spiritually blind at some
point in our lives, but as we turn to the Savior and follow Him, it allows us to see ourselves as He does.
I miss and love you all! I hope you have such an amazing week!!!!
