Hey y'all! I hope you all had such a fantastic Thanksgiving! Sister Jenks and I had a great day. It was still a normal day for us, teaching lessons and visiting people. It was crazy weather though and snowed all day long which was really beautiful. We have trained this ward well and they are starting to figure out how to feed sisters. We only had one dinner, which was so nice. We ate with some members and played like half a game of Settlers of Catan (new experience for me because I've never played before), and then headed to see some single sisters about an hour away before the storm got too bad.
My weekly email would not be completely without a hilarious story about Rod and Virginia. So this week we did some serious service out on Virginia's ranch picking up storm debris and mucking stalls. They have this radio that they never shut off in the barn that is turned to an awesome oldies station. It's our "tender mercy of the week". Anyways so while we were mucking, Rod came in to chat and check up on us. While we were talking, one of my favorite Journey songs came on and so of course I had to do something. So I started dancing and singing and having a grand old time. Rod though wasn't going to have any of that, so he goes, "Now sister, what are you thinking? You are in some serious trouble. Here we thought that by making y'all muck stalls you could stay out of trouble, but nope. Here you are singing and wagging your bum around. That is no way for a lady to act." He then proceeded to walk over to the radio, turn UP the music, and show me how you really dance to that music. Oh Rod.
We had a ton of super awesome lessons this week. Yesterday we taught a new investigator named Jenna. She is just a little bit younger than us, and is really good friends with a family in the ward. She's pretty familiar with the church, but has been wanting to know more for a while. So last night we taught her the first lesson and committed her to be baptized, and she accepted! The spirit was so strong it was amazing. I love how the Lord prepares his children to receive this message. He knows that this gospel will bless us and help us throughout our lives.
Transfers are next week and Sister J and I are not excited!!! We love each other and this area way too much!! We will find out on Saturday for sure what's going on to happen, but we are pretty confident that we won't still be together :(.
I hope y'all have such an amazing week! Don't forget that the Lord loves you and He is ALWAYS there for you. Just ask Him and have faith. It is all in His hands and He has the perfect plan and the perfect timing. I would invite everyone to go and check out Christmas.mormon.org. You won't regret it!
