I'm sorry but my letter this week will be rather disappointing. You see, Sister Jenks got the sickness. It started on Monday when she woke up with a scratchy throat, but we just attributed it to the dry climate and the recent rise in use of the heater. But speaking of Monday, we ate the most bomb fish and chips at a members home. The cool thing was is that just a couple of days before I had told Sister Jenks that I really wanted some fish and chips, so that was awesome.
Tuesday she woke up and wasn't feeling much better, so we gave her some DayQuill and went out to work. The hardest part of this week though was the fact that everyone either cancelled on us, literally every appointment fell through, or no one was home when we stopped by to visit. That was very discouraging. Tuesday was rough as Sister J progressively felt worse and worse, and I got crazier and crazier since we couldn't meet with anyone. We got home and were just kind of done with the day. Sister J didn't feel good at all and I was just disappointed with the day. So she took two NyQuill and knocked out at 9:30, and I stayed up for another hour reading the scriptures and different talks on missionary work to try and get motivated again.
Wednesday Sister Jenks was out for the count. Not feeling good at all. So we stayed in all day so that she could rest. I read the scriptures like all day and IT WAS AWSOME! Holy cow I just love the scriptures I can't even express how much I love them. They provide so much direction and hope and guidance. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and its truthfulness. I know it was written by prophets of God and translated by Joseph Smith, a prophet of these Latter Days. It brings joy to my life and testifies of Christ and His love and atonement for us. I read a bunch from the Book of Mormon, and then I read the story of Joseph in the Bible. Oh it was so cool because I could see how much God loves each of us, how He has a very distinct and important plan for us. Wednesday night, we obviously couldn't go out to the members home for dinner, so we called our Bishops wife, our bishop owns like a bunch of Papa Johns here, and asked if we could get a pizza and she sent one to us which was awesome! So we just had a super fun night having a pizza party and decorating our planners for the next couple of transfers.
Thursday was had a really awesome district meeting because there were two new missionaries there. So we got to know them and just had a really awesome lesson from our district leader Elder Burrell.
Friday was really uneventful and I don't even remember what happened. Saturday was fun though because we went back out to creepy Pine Bluffs. We thought it was fitting for Halloween. Pine Bluffs has a freaking Elm Street so yeah, basically the creepiest town ever. We had to be back inside by 6 on Saturday night, so we just passed out candy and talked to the people we live with. Just a super chill day. I don't have any good ranch stories or anything like that I am sorry! Hopefully this week I will have an exciting story to tell y'all!
I hope you all are doing awesome! I am so grateful for the emails and support and love that I get from all of you! Scripture to read this week: 2 Corinthians 12:9. Have an amazing week!
